Spanner - Manufacturing process

One key feature of spanners made by ELORA is their excellent rigidity and resistance to bending. Thanks to a finely tuned materials selection process, tried-and-tested manufacturing techniques and tight quality controls, ELORA spanners are well able to withstand the rigours of daily use. The ergonomically designed shape ensures a firm grip for efficient, safe work. As well as offering a dazzle-free finish, the highgrade matt chrome plating provides longterm protection against corrosion.

Our other product characteristics are equally impressive. Every ELORA spanner contains the collective skills, knowledge and experience of several generations of work in tool manufacture &#; a fact that is worth every cent and gives the end user the security that he or she has made a worthwhile investment in the future. This means you can look forward to highestgrade quality tools that will work perfectly for
years and look great at the same time.

Exploring the Process: How Spanners Are Made?

It is one of the world&#;s most frequent instruments. You probably have used a variation in this tool if you have tightened a nut or some kind of bolt. Everybody has a wrench, whether you&#;re using a mix, pipe, ratchet or other variant! We look at the history and manufacturing of spanners, at how it&#;s made.

While spanners-like tools have been in use since the beginning of the 15th century, modern spanners became common only in the 19th century. In Victorian England, the wrench we know was originally called a spanner. In , Solymon Merrick has been generally accepted as the inventor of the modern wrench/spanners. Shortly after the patent, several other inventors followed up the concept and produced different spanners/wrenches for various circumstances.

Spanner is made of what material ?
Spanners were made from cast iron first but later switched to steel for longer tool life and reliability. Usually it is made from Steel. A alloy of Iron, carbon, manganese, chromium, vanadium. It is hardened using water quenching.

One of the key reasons it is commonly adapted is the simplicity of the design. It ensures fast replication and mass production around the world. Spanners helps to loosen and tighten bolts by enough torque without stressing the person with the clamp.

Design & Science

Physics of the spanners is reasonably straightforward and is mostly used as a lever. In the mouth of the spanners there are notches that provide a stronger grip. The end of the wrench is twisted or loosened to tighten nuts and bolts at the right angle.

You can change the size of the head to the correct size of something you try to relax or tighten if you are holding an adjustable clamp. Wrenches can be used by almost anyone, but they must operate with a range of equipment for mechanics, plumbers and other citizens. Other popular styles of spanners taht comes under automobile tools and plumbing wrenches include a tubular spanners , a ratchet wrench, Allen clamp and wrenches.

Billet cutting & heating

Usually normal materials (steel, iron, copper and other) are prepared in stock and the card is cut to the approximate size. Then heat the billets at a certain temperature with the medium frequency furnace, then bring the heated bars in a metal frame and wait until they are forged.

The Manufacturing Process

Forging

Our wrenches are hot forging types. Our big hammers forge tonnage gives us full autonomy and process control.

Mechanization

Our new machining centers guarantee minimum tolerances so that our keys are well above the ISO and ANSI international requirements.

Heat treatments

Accurate temperature monitoring in our stoves gives our adjustable keys the ideal balance between reliability and flexibility.

Because there are so many kinds of wrenches, we concentrate on the bracelet because it is one of the commonest kinds of wrenches that the public uses. Next a steel bar is sent to a die trimmer that cuts the bars to some length. The lengths of the bar are then known as tickets.

If the billet size is cut, a machine feeds each billet into an induction heater to heat the metal and give it form. The dies forge the hot metal into the form of a wrench when the billets get heated to a certain temperature.

After the key has been made, the excess metal will be trimmed again by a die machine. Ultimately, the spanners flow through a belt and start to cool off. The pick-up box is then dumped.

Cleaned up

We&#;ve got a robot system to perform all our keys&#; polishing processes.

Transportation and packaging

Tools manufacturer first priority is to make the product reaches the consumer in great condition.

After picking up the Spanners, a maker starts grinding off the cut-off lines to finish the spanners flat. The Spanners is then inserted into a curve machine to give a 15 degree angle to the end of a clamp.

Then a vertical frying machine draws a hole into the end of the box. A method for broaching is often used to give a hexagonal form to the wrench hole. Similar techniques are also used for other wrenches. The spanners would then be heat-treated to harden and reinforce the metal. The spanners are put on a separate conveyor and polished with ceramic stones for eight hours. The spanners are then inserted into and into the liquid to avoid corrosion in the metal.

After that the spanners manufacturing process is finished, they are cleaned and finished eight more hours before they shine. They are then ready for shipping. Though Spanners are now as popular in any garage around the world as any screwdriver or drill. While there are several types of spanners, you can be sure that the wrench is here to stay when relatively new.
