On April 15, my country’s first high-altitude UHV disassembly transformer was assembled at the 1,000 kV UHV substation in Ganzi, Sichuan, which took 45 days.
This is also the first time that State Grid UHV Co., Ltd. has applied UHV main transformer disassembly and assembly technology on a large scale.
The Ganzi UHV substation is the starting point of the Sichuan-Chongqing UHV project. It is located in Xinduqiao Town on the Western Sichuan Plateau at an altitude of 3,450 meters. To reach the Ganzi substation, you must climb the Zheduo Mountain, the "first pass of Kangba" with an altitude of 4,298 meters. The 318 National Highway on Zheduo Mountain has "nine twists and turns" and the huge UHV main transformer cannot pass through it as a whole.
After many studies and demonstrations, the project department of the owner of the Ganzi Substation of the State Grid UHV Company decided to apply the main transformer disassembly and assembly technology to disassemble the 370-ton main transformer body into 14 modular components and transport them from Baoding, Hebei in 9 large transport trucks. Arrive at the project site and assemble again.
