Video: Bobcat introduces new electric skid steer loader

From job sites to farms to mines, off-road vehicles are steadily electrifying.

Bobcat, an American manufacturer of compact farm and construction equipment, has introduced what it calls the world&#;s first all-electric skid steer loader, a follow-up to the electric track loader Bobcat introduced two years ago (a skid steer uses differential steering&#;its wheels or tracks can turn in opposite directions to steer the machine, giving it an extremely tight turning radius).

Electric drive eliminates the need for hydraulics (a major source of maintenance issues), and of course also delivers quieter and smoother operation (a boon for operators). Run time is up to 8 hours on a single charge.

Joel from Bobcat points out another big advantage of EVs: there&#;s no idle time. &#;Run time&#; means when the motor is running, and that happens only when the loader is actually performing work, so 8 hours run time could be more than enough to get through an 8-hour work day.

Between tasks, the operator sits peacefully in vibration-free silence. Fleets that have deployed EVs are finding that drivers love them&#;an important consideration in today&#;s tight job market.

With competitive price and timely delivery, YuchaiHI sincerely hope to be your supplier and partner.

Advantages

No burden on the environment or your wallet

FIRSTGREEN 100% electric skid steer loaders have a minimal carbon footprint compared to conventional diesel powered skid steer loaders. Therefore, they do not produce dangerous gases that lead to smog pollution. Compared to other loaders of their kind, FIRSTGREEN machines are also significantly quieter. This makes them the ideal loaders for conditions where disturbance of the natural environment must be avoided.

But in addition to sustainability, FIRSTGREEN skid steer loaders are also characterised by their economical approach to operation. They can operate at full power for up to 8 hours on a single charge. They can thus operate frequently uninterrupted throughout the entire shift.

With an assumed average operation of 250 motor hours (mh) per year, the annual operating costs for the MiniZ are around just EUR 68. With an average operation of 500 motor hours (mh), the costs for the ELISE 900 are around EUR 450. The average annual operations are based on the average annual operations of conventional machines, which are up to ten times more expensive to operate in terms of fuel alone.

Maintenance of FIRSTGREEN skid steer loaders is minimal and does not need to be considered as a significant element of the budget after the purchase of the machines. For example, there is no need to change engine oil, engine oil filter, air filter, particulate filter, etc.
