What is the process flow of electroplating equipment?

A. Basic process

(polishing → polishing) → hanging → degreasing and deoiling → water washing → (electrolytic polishing or chemical polishing) → pickling and activation → (pre-plating) → electroplating → water washing → (post-treatment) → water washing → drying → hanging → inspection and packaging)

B. Functions of each process

1. Pretreatment: All processes before plating are called pretreatment, and its purpose is to trim the surface of the workpiece, remove grease, rust, oxide film, etc. on the surface of the workpiece, and provide the required electroplating surface for the deposition of subsequent coatings. Pretreatment mainly affects the appearance and bonding strength. According to statistics, 60% of defective electroplated products are caused by poor pretreatment, so pretreatment plays a very important role in the electroplating process. In countries with developed electroplating technology, pretreatment process is highly valued, accounting for more than half of the entire electroplating process, which can obtain a good surface coating and greatly reduce the defective rate.

Sandblasting: remove corrosion, welding slag, carbon deposits, old paint layers and other dry oil pollution on the surface of parts; remove castings, forgings or oxide scale on the surface of parts; remove burrs and directional grinding marks on the surface of parts; reduce the surface roughness of parts and improve the adhesion of coatings such as paint; make parts in a diffuse matte state.

Polishing: remove burrs, rust, scratches, welds, weld nodules, sand holes, oxide scale and other macro defects on the surface of parts to improve the flatness and electroplating quality of parts.

Grinding: The purpose of grinding is to further reduce the roughness of the surface of parts and obtain a bright appearance. There are mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, electrochemical polishing and other methods.

Degreasing: remove grease from the surface of the workpiece. Organic solvent degreasing, chemical degreasing, electrochemical degreasing, wiping degreasing, rolling degreasing, etc. Pickling: remove rust and oxide film on the surface of workpieces. There are chemical pickling and electrochemical pickling.
